SPF Lumber :

SPF lumber is a mixture of Canadian Spruces, Pines and Firs growing in different parts of Canada. The yielding is of high quality timber with  small, tight, sound knots. There is more abundance of SPF in the Western parts of Canada compared to the East and this is due to the log sizes and climate.

For residential and commercial construction it makes a lot of sense to use SPF and that is due to it’s competitive cost high weight to strength ratio. Furthermore, it is a good lumber for other applications such as packaging, engineered lumber products, and construction. In the UAE SPF is used sometimes as for wooden roofing structures as well as for pallet elements for pallet manufacturing factories. Lumber is graded according to the NLGA.
